Now that we are all rested, cleaned, unpacked, and the like
our minds turn to the blessings of good weather and good friends we shared this
past weekend at Steppingstone. We had
an excellent demo with sunny skies and mild spring temperatures and many more
visitors than in the past years, drawn by the weather and some good media
coverage of the event. The gate numbers
were 690 paid adults and 17 member passes, so 707 adults and we can estimate at
least that many kids so we served well over 1000 people!
The public was very enthusiastic and enjoyed all of the
learning opportunities, watching the fighting, viewing the arts and displays,
petting the horses and seeing them in action, shooting arrows, ballista, and
onager, and enjoying the good shopping!
By having this as an official event we were again able to
offer authorizations and we had several folk authorize for equestrian
activities, including perhaps our eldest and youngest new authorizations. J
I have many people to Thank on behalf of myself, the Barony of
Bright Hills, and the Steppingstone Museum for making this an excellent demo
and excellent event… everyone who signed in and that I can remember off the top
of my still tired head is listed below in no particular order. If I have missed anyone or mussed up a name
it is by no means intentional and please let me know if you know of someone I
missed.
