Greetings, all!
There is also Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever on the ticks at the
Sapphire site. I found out the hard way in 2006. It made me very ill
and was one reason I had to quit my career.
I found the tiny tick on Tuesday after Sapphire (near the small of my
back) and by Wednesday was covered in tiny bumps and had chills and
fever. My joints were already messed up from a prior illness, but
this sent them into a spiral. It has only been in the last year that
the pain is manageable and I feel like I am back to my normal self.
Please wear bug and tick repellent, especially at camping events.
Cheers,
Sorcha de Glys
