I find it kind of funny that the discovery of *two skeletons* makes the news as an afterthough...
"This is amazing! It appears that this was made just so the bees could find a warm place without molestation. Oh yeah, we found a couple skeltons in the cupboard over there; but look at the intricity of this hive - I wonder how long this colony has been here. Hope they come back."
I have a couple archeologist friends... it's amazing what they focus on.

Noble friends,
The archaeological community in Scotland is all abuzz (so to speak) about the discovery of a purpose-built beehive within a pillar at Rosslyn Chapel. Very strange, since the hive could not be accessed for collecting honey. Here's the story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/8594724.stm .
I wish I could tell you all more about this, since I was previously in the service of Sir Oliver Sinclair of Roslyn. That was over 500 years ago, and memories do get foggy with age.
Kind regards,
Mungo Napier, Former Captain of Archers and Equerry to Sir Oliver Sinclair.
