As much as I hate stuff like cameras, I hate that we need them more.
I've spent a LOT of time in national parks, monuments, gamelands, etc. And I've seen some stuff that made me want to pull a Cody Ironeyes. Not to mention knowing what it's like to be a woman, sometimes alone, in said places and run into some potentially bad situations.
Rangers are trying to take care of our national treasures and protect them and those that would enjoy them. Seeing some of the stuff I've seen, I can't dispute the need for this.

In various cases, judges ruled that a video camera is effectively an extension of a law enforcement officer's eyes and ears. In other words, if an officer can eyeball a campground in person, it's OK to station a video camera in his or her place.
