Hopefully there are some current or aspiring armorers on list. If not, I
apologize, as I haven't done anything SCA related for a number of years.
I recently scanned a set of photocopies I have of a book that is written in
italian, and has many pictures of armor in black and white. However, they
aren't really "photos" but are more like hand-drawn pictures. The detail is
good, and it covers a wide range of armor (from early mail all the way
through high-fashion jousting and tournament armor).
The photocopies were given to me about a decade ago by an SCA armorer named
Glandyth (I may have butchered the spelling, but that's the
pronunciation). Unfortunately,
the ROUS seem to have used the paper copies as a water closet, despite being
inside of a plastic container; apparently plastic has now been proven to be
resistant, but not immune, to chewing. Thanks to some photoshop voodoo, I
was able to isolate colors and remove the yellow stains, and I cleaned up a
number of random spots where things were smudged or spotty, but they aren't
quite 100%. However, they are certainly very usable.
I never learned how to make armor properly, or even poorly, but I hope this
will be helpful to someone.
Anyway, here is the link:

Please don't link directly to them, but feel free to save a copy. :-)
