I don't usually chime in on these discussions, but... Wow! that was rude.
Considering how much time his Grace spent in Atlantia, the fact that it's
been a few short months since he left, and the amount of friends and
household he still has here, I think that he has every right to chime in on
a discussion that really does affect him and his decision whether to travel
to an event within our fair kingdom. He also has a wealth of experience with
the work that goes into putting together events, knowledge as to why they
cost as much as they do, etc. The time and energy he has put into this
kingdom cannot be brushed aside simply because he no longer lives here. As
long as he's planning on visiting, he should be extended the same courtesy
as any of our other friends in neighboring kingdoms, which makes his
concerns and questions on cost very valid and worthy of discussion.
As to the discussions of event fees, etc, it's rather cavalier to say, "If
you don't like it, don't come". There are a number of people who wish to
play who have to consider gas costs, hotels, food for several days, event
fees for their families, etc. I don't know many people who can blithely say
"I'm going to that event" without consulting their budget first. Knowing WHY
an event costs as much as it does helps to take the sting out of unexpected
fees, and allows us to make better decisions in planning our event calendar.
At least, it does for me.
Either way, telling someone from out of kingdom that they're not welcome to
comment on something that pertains to them... that's just incredibly rude.
Sheesh!
