Actually, if you pre-register and have a current SCA membership, the site fee for War of the Wings is $15. I will let someone more qualified do the explaining, but the increase is both needed and warranted. That money goes for more than just portajohns & dumpsters, which are expensive, and of which more are to be ordered this year in anticipation of more attendees.
That being said, $15 is still pretty darn cheap to attend an event, and with all that's planned for this year, I expect it to be the best year yet! I'm giddy just thinking about it!

except that war of the wings now costs $20, not $6. for some port-a-johns
and a trash dumpster? seems excessive.

Thanks for the War of the Wings plug! ( smile) In truth in as much as
I like events that are camping and such, there are those who do not.
Primitive camping suits me, the price is not bad and this sort of
camping encourages you to get creative. I know what lady Rebecca is
saying and in some ways I agree with her.
Now, if we could get her to autocrat an event, I will MIC if for
her. You know that War of the Wing site is perfect Lady Rebecca.
$6.00 a head and plenty of room. You have the best of Primitive with
Flush toilets and hot showers.
