gulf wars is $60 and pennsic runs $120 for two weeks. both of those events
are held at established sites with paid staff (pennsic employs thousands of
paid man hours daily) and year round upkeep on the various buildings, land,
dozens of well houses and miles of water lines, and roads spread out over
550 acres. pennsic would be a little cheaper if the mid and the east didnt
get checks for, i think, $30,000.00 each every year (at least thats what i
understood it to be) but not by much. gulf wars is a much smaller scaled
and less established site and ive never been involved with any of the inner
workings at kings arrow.

Remind me as I seem to have forgotten, how much was Gulf Wars? or Pennsic?
I realize War of the Wings is not quite in their category (yet) but is
steadily growing despite the economy. Some people never even think twice
about how much they spend to go to the larger events yet grumble over an
economical event such as WoW. To my knowledge it is the largest event next
to the above mentioned and centrally located between the two as one is
definitely North and the other is definitely South while WoW is located
Central so that all areas can easily attend. Still seems like a bargain to
me!
I think if the grounds were better utilized it actually could be nearly as
huge an event as Gulf Wars... See everyone at WoW!
