Greetings!
Yes the price of WoW has gone up, alot of that is due to the fact that the
cost of just about every aspect of the event is going up.
WoW now open on Thursday afternoon. Which means that all of the rented
equipment needs to be there for an extra day. That add quite a bit to a
budget.
But beyond that, WoW is very quickly becoming a war. And as such there are
concerns about the effect of the event on the Baronial Bank account. So yes
a bit of a buffer is built in this year. That is so that WoW can have a
dedicated fund that is used for nothing but WoW, while maintaining our
Baronial coffers at a level that we can still hold other events, and pay our
operating costs.
I understand that it is a big jump from past years but WoW is not an
outrageous price considering that if you compare it to say a weekend at Gulf
Wars(fri, sat, sun) it is still half the cost.
I know that with the talk of lowering event costs this is not a popular view
but what other event in Atlantia can you enjoy heavy, rapier, target and
combat archery, siege, thrown weapons, equestrian, melees, tourneys, two
days of classes, a big party with free food, dozens of merchants, and a
full grand procession. All with 1,000 of your closest friends.
