Speaking of low cost events - it seems appropriate to repost the flyer
for Assessment again, since it is a low cost event (and the site
change was not reflected in the acorn)   =)

The ice has melted, the tides grow favorable and the time to go
a-vyking grows nigh! Fearsome Jason, Konungr and ferocious Gerhild,
Drottning call forth Their army to gather so They may count those who
will fight by Their side against the Dragon. The Barony of Black
Diamond welcomes all those who would stand in support of Atlantia.
Come hone your skills with your brothers-in-arms before taking the
battle to those who would threaten our Allies. Spend the day honing
your skills in preparation for war. Stay and spend the evening in good
company feasting among friends followed by a night of revelry with
skalds a-plenty.

Martial Activities:
Armored: Training on melee tactics with a focus on triads and lances.
Come ready to fight as units. Specific training focuses will be
provided by His Majesty and His Warlord.

Rapier: Come ready to fight with your Baronial or Household units.
Scenarios as determined by His Majesty and the Rapier Warlord

A&S: An army is more than those who wield sword, spear or bow. Come
show your art/science and how it supports the army. Any medium is
welcome so long as it fits the martial theme. Their Excellencies of
Black Diamond will provide a prize for "Best in Show". Questions can

Feast: In preparation to assist our allies of the East in the coming
war, the King Jason Kinslae, has stopped to assess the mighty
Atlantian Army. As a thank you, the Barony of Black Diamond wishes to
invite the noble fighters and the populous of Atlantia to sit at the
Feast of the Varangians. A menu styled on Mediterranean delicacies
will be provided. Performers will be on hand to delight the eyes and
ears for an added bonus to the already mouth watering array of food
that will be served. A sumptuous Mediterranean feast is being prepared
