Really???
Well as an old, old SCAdian I must admit that 'primitive' site events cost
me more as I tend to get a hotel. Sorry, I've done the primitive camping
thing, where there is nothing but a hole in the ground in a box and no
showers. I have done it at Sca events, mundane camping out, Civil War and
Rev War events too in the past. I admit these days I'd rather have a flushie
and a shower or I'm going to find crash space or a hotel... So I am of the
opinion that $25 or $30 to stay in a cabin with nearby toilets and showers
is darn well worth it! And I'm willing to pay extra to have those facilities
and grateful to the group that can provide them. I don't have to event every
weekend so I don't have to have a $5 site fee every time. I might get
frustrated at $15 day trip costs when I'm staying in a hotel because the
site is pretty primitive, but I'm assuming that the group is paying through
the nose for that site.
