While I agree it is nice to have a cheap event every now and then, not all of us want to use primitive sites.  I personally am willing to pay a few extra dollars and go to maybe a few less events a year and go to those that have real bathrooms and better facilities.  
I understand not everyone feels this way, but I would rather not go back too far because I really, really like having the ability to use a real toilet and to be able to wash my hands in a real sink with soap and having decent kitchen facilities for feasts, etc. While, you might lose some folks with higher event fees, you will also lose some folks who would rather not deal with a primitive site for various reasons.

We've done the cheap successful event in the past and I think we go back to our roots and do things the way we used to with the primitive sites or we'll lose a huge portion of our populace.

I'm glad WOW has become so successful but it is possible to do a quality cheap event.  I believe we've lost our roots and need to go back.
