Lady Rebecca,

I think you do have something to prove. You have thrown out
the remark that it is realistically possible to have a good $5
event.

Your statement implies that Autocrats in this Kingdom have not
had cost effective events, or that their budgeting skills need a
little work. I will not put on an event where my group is going to
take a loss, regardless of whether we can afford it. I think it is
fair to say that other groups try not to plan an event where they
wish to take a loss.

A lot of thought and planning goes into EVERY event that
EVERY Autocrat in this Kingdom does. In some cases, attendance
is down for what ever reason applies in that area. Autocrats
have to adjust for that population loss, and they hope they
don't have to raise the day trip fees because of it.

Per your comment:
"...start dumping the expensive sites and go to those sites
where our fees can be reasonable."

If we start dumping the "expensive sites" as you suggest,
you might find the Atlantian Calendar very empty of events.
Some Baronies do not have the advantages that others do
with lesser site costs, camping or cabin availabilities, large
buildings to hold feasts, etc...

Per your comment:
"However I still don't think that's realistic to the norm when
so many groups clearly can do good events with $5.00
day trips."

I would like to know what groups clearly can do "a good $5
day trip cost event". I can only guess that you have looked
at their expenses and have found where the "fat could be
trimmed". In fact, I think you should put this talent to use and
teach at University and share your wisdom with all of us.

Andras is correct, "Leading by example is always appropriate..."

I wish you much luck in finding the venue to hold this event
sometime in the near future, and if you need any assistance in
planning, I will be happy to help.
