[MR] event fees

Perhaps the average attendance is down because folks have less money, and therefore are spending it more on necessities. Hmm, not going to an event because you need to spend money elsewhere...what's that called? Oh yeah, priorities!

My husband and I are only attending a handful of events this year (we just did our last event until War of the Wings) for that very reason. We just bought a new sofa ($1100) and put a roof ($5000) on the house. We've also got a lot of household projects that need to be done--new pavilion, tables, torches...
We're cutting back on events this year so that our house that we live in every day is more comfortable, next year's events will be more enjoyable, and so that we won't go bankrupt in the meantime. But that's just us.

I don't ever expect anyone to agree with me.  But people are surprised at how the average event attendance is being down.  This seems like denial to me especially considering other posts but all I can do is warn people.  I can't make people listen.
