I have a pretty good feeling that if we are patient, the folks running the event will tell us everything we need to know as soon as they have made all the arrangements, in time to get hotels booked, and possibly with SCA discounts. I'm excited too! (And likewise concerned about things like plumbing facilities!)

Subject: [MR] 30 year hotel search

I looked on yahoo and trip advisor and here is some of what I found. hotels near orange va, 30 year site. there is a holiday inn express running $125-142 a night for sept of 2010,has 65 total rooms, 10 of which are suites, Holladay house B&B average rate $183- high season, $230. 6 rooms total.greenoclhouse inn 5 rooms, $230.00,Shadows B&B averge $110.00 no mention of how many rooms, best western, culpepper, VA about 16 miles away, no mention of number of rooms, but it has a ballroom, rooms run about $90.00, a red carpet inn that allows pets, 20 rooms, best western crossroads, in gordonsville, 5 miles away, chestnut hill and mayhurst B&B's in orange, but, most of the hotels and B&B were booked up for labor day weekend of 2010 already, so keep this in mind!...and Amtrack still has a small stop in culpepper, VA. but no ticket office, so there are places to stay within a half hour drive, or in town, if you want to pay a lot, and you could maybe take the
train for about $120 round trip from charlotte, NC. Acording to the orange convention and visitor's bureau, "Interstates 95, 64, and 81 are within 40 miles of the town of Orange" I'd like to know, what does this site have to offer? Does it have bathroooms and showers? Is it just a big field in the middle of knowwhere that has no plumbing? or, is it a terrific historical, although wrong time period, site with great amenities? can someone tell us all more about the site? They have a web site, but what facilities will we have use of?
