Thank you for the excellent messages I have been sent (both private and  
public).
 

To answer some questions:
 
This event is scheduled for 2011, which is currently more than a year  
away.  The Golden Rose tourney is being held on Labor Day, this year.   Per the 
Seneschal's letter in the June Acorn, the Golden Rose will be held in  the 
third Saturday in May (starting in 2011).
 

The event will include camping, though there are several hotels and  
bed-and-breakfasts in the Town of Orange (under 4 miles away), and a great many  
in Charlottesville (about 25 miles away).
 

As far as site restrictions, discussions are underway among the staff,  but 
some preliminary information:
The site is discretely wet.
Campfires  are allowed.
 

The martial activities that I already am sure will be included are  Armored 
(adult and youth), Rapier (adult and youth), Archery, and  Equestrian.
 
As the site is primitive, we will be renting a large tent and a lot of  
port-a-potties.  There is potable water.
