Well here goes my two cents, I think everyone is  entitled to their own 
opinions on all matters. I for one enjoied scouting I went  through the whole 
process from Wolf Pack to Eagle Scout and finally to the  Explorer Scout. I 
never heard a word that was ever mean spirited or  bigotry in nature. Our 
local scout program was about teaching good manners ,  teaching about always 
telling the truth in all situations , and getting  along with others, 
respecting your elders , learning team  building  and survival skills. I will always 
have fond memories of my days in  scouting . I cant recall a day I had a 
bad moment in it. But its not  for everybody , so I respect other opinions.
 
 As for our SCA life , our very first  royal experience in the SCA was with 
Duke Logan , he was understanding , helpful  and a good listener to myself 
and my wife Lady Nikolina ( Niki Brooker)  , he always answered any 
questions we  had with total honesty . Next in line Yanos and Rachel same thing and 
in  our local Canton and in others , but we had a few that made it not so 
fun ,  some actually said they didn't like Norse personas , incidentally my 
wife is  Norweign by birth in mundane life , I doubt my wife will come back to 
the SCA  she took that personally. We even had a run in with the "Fashion 
Police" ,  my dear wife hand sowed our tunics and her apron dresses but some 
folks didn't  like her efforts and even told us so to our faces.
But its had its good points and great people and we  have many friends 
still in it this day. 
 
When we had to take our leave because of the family  business problems and 
some personal coinflicts and at the time my fathers  declineing  heath ( he 
had a come back) a lot of understanding folks  from the SCA understood , 
some did not. But that's life , I am trying to  make a comeback in the SCA , 
yes I renewed my dues , and yes Lady Nikiolina (  Niki ) is actually thinking 
about doing the same. We wont hold offices  just be citizens from this point 
on. 
 
Point is  we are all adults here cant we agree to  dissagree ??
