[MR] Pennsic Pity Party Aug 6, 7, 8 - Elchenburg Castle (Boonville, NC)

Hey All!
The Pennsic Pity Party is coming up fast! Here are the top ten things you
might wanna know....
1. This *Unofficial* Pennsic Pity Party is being held at Elchenburg
Castle (2239
Center Road, *Boonville*, *NC* 27011). This is a primitive site, but it does
have a bathhouse with showers and flushing toilets. Water, Bug spray and
Sunblock are a must!!!

2. It is prolly gonna be really hot!!! I recommend your lightest garb! I
personally will be in roman for the weekend.
3. The Pavilion is reserved for A&S stuff! there are tables, and shade and
outlets! I plan on bringing a fan, if you have a spare fan bring it, we'll
plug it in and have chillin' arts! Bring whatever projects you are working
on, meesy arts are welcome!!!!
4. Fighting will be in the morning on Saturday, hoping to get that started
no later than 10 am. This is not an official event just a big practice, so
you don't "have" to be an authorized fighter to play.There will be archery
as well. Not sure of the form it'll take at this point, but prolly at least
some royal rounds.
5. After the fighting when we are all hot and really need to cool off, we
will have water games! Wet Sponge Toss! Water Balloon Wars! and possibly...
"Shiver Apples" (bobbing for apples in icy water)!
6. Saturday evening's meal is a potluck. I'll be bringing a charcoal grill
and hot dogs. Bring what ever meat you wanna grill up and a dish to share
with the crowd. There is a fridge in the kitchen with *limited* space, also
a big freezer. The microwave will be available to heat up your dish
7. Lady Rosanella has agreed to come and host a bardic for us on Saturday
evening. It'll be a play/pick/pass bardic. So bring your favorite song,
story, joke, or poem!
8. This is a VERY VERY wet site! There are only a few rules.... Under 21, No
Booze & If it gets set on the "Party" table it is fair game. So only put
things you want to share on the "Party" table.
9. Camping is first come first serve along the tree line. If you want a
certain place get there early! I'll be on site on later than 3 pm on Friday
afternoon!
10. There is a charge for the event. $6 per person is what Walter charges
for the renting of the site. So... I will have my tent at the very end of
the treeline closest to the driveway. When you get on site, that should be
your first stop! Come on by and if I am not there I'll leave a jar for your
money! Yes this is completely on the honor system! So be honorable!!!!!!
