THE THINGS MY CHILDREN LIKE DOING MOST IS SERVING.  EVEN WHEN OUR SON WAS 6 OR 7, WISE EVENT STAFF FOUND TASKS FOR HIM WHICH MADE HIM FEEL GOOD -- LIKE HE WAS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE EVENT/ORGANIZATION.  THE PARTICULAR INSTANCE I AM THINKING OF WAS WHEN HE WAS ASSIGNED TO MONITOR THE FIRE WHICH WAS ROASTING A PIG.  HE WAS TO CHECK IT PERIODICALLY AND MAKE SURE IT DIDN'T GO OUT.  HE FAITHFULLY REPORTED TO THE COOK AT LEAST ONCE AN HOUR (SOMETIMES MORE OFTEN) TO LET HIM KNOW THAT THE FIRE WAS STILL LIT.  HE FELT HE WAS ONE OF THE COOKING STAFF AND FELT IMPORTANT.  WE ALL NEED THAT FEELING SOMETIMES.
