Well, Assessment went off without too many hitches. As with any SCA
event, there is no way it would have gone as smoothly as it did
without the help of many fine people giving of their time so that
others might enjoy themselves a bit more.
Lady Tiffany and her Kitchen staff - OMG that feast was awesome. The
folks that stayed after and helped clean up made it even more so.
Forgive me if I misspell a name, but Beatrix, Bobby, Nathanial,
Jurgan, Baroness Anya of Caer Mear, and the rest - you guys rock.
Mistress Aneira and her troll staff, Sir Theron and Adalric for going
out of their way to get the hay bales, and the Marshal staff forgoing
their own fighting that others might get out there.
I know that many more people helped out behind the scenes, such as the
scribes that worked so hard to produce the beautiful scrolls that were
given out in court, the Heralds (especially Batcock!), The retainers
for their Majesties, Their Highnesses, and Their Excellencies, and the
artisans that display their crafts and helped spread knowledge, These
fine people, who often are quietly (except Batcock, of course...)
toiling away unnoticed by the populous in general at every event are
what make the SCA so special.
Of course, no thanks would be complete without speaking of Their
Majesties and Their Highnesses. They travel ungodly distances as a
matter of course to bring ceremony and pageantry to our events. They
hold the dream in their hands and hearts, and help spread it for all.
