I'm with Glynis on this:
"This idea is bad juju, in my opinion. I hate politics, and I hate
seeing
people be held back because they are associated with this Peer or that
Peer.
It's not as bad in Atlantia, but I've seen it in other Kingdoms, and
it's
very sad when it happens."
I think the more you travel around the kingdoms, the more you get to
see the pluses and minuses of their particular cultures. It's
important to also realize that the Peerages, as well as the members
any other Order and even your average subject of Atlantia, can only
*advise* the Crown. It is the Crown who decides. It's the game we
signed up for.
It may be that someone is not suited to having Associates, or someone
may lead by example and do it very well- are those types of folks who
may have achieved an excellence in their art or service to be less
valued then others who have 30 Associates who don't do a heck of a lot
for their local group or kingdom yet belong to some "glorious"
household? Nope, not in my book.
Keep it simple, look at what the person does, be patient and remember
that there is room for everyone in this Society. Inventing more rules
does not mean that you will be able to find quality amongst the
quantity- you pan for the gold no matter how much sand you shift.
Back to packing!

Merciful Father, I have squandered my days with plans of many things.
This was not among them. But at this moment, I beg only to live the
next few minutes well. For all we ought to have thought, and have not
thought; all we ought to have said, and have not said; all we ought to
have done, and have not done; I pray thee God for forgiveness.
