Unto the gentles of the Tavern, good evening and warm wishes from the snowy lands of the Barony of
Dun Carraig. The pre-registration deadline for A Day in the Middle East draws near. All adults who
pre-register by 2/07/2010 (postmarked) are automatically entered into a drawing for a fabulous
prize and may take $1 off their fee. Information on the prizes can be found at:
http://www.duncarraig.net/middle_eastern/prereg.shtml.

The pre-registration is vitally important to those of us planning the event. All attendees (even
those who are not staying for feast) will be treated to an all day mezze to tempt the palate and
dazzle the senses. However, it’s a lot easier to make plans for folks if we know you are coming.
Please note that I will be planning to scale our plans up or down based on the reservations and I
would hate to scale down if folks are planning on attending the event. Please let us know if you
are coming!!

Maymunah bint Da'ud al-Siqilliyah will be sponsoring a competition during the event. The theme is
once again “You Look as if you Stepped from a Portrait” and the prize will be a copy of “Flowers
of Silk and Gold, Four Centuries of Ottoman Embroidery". So dress to impress and let the games
begin!

Lady Gwenllian Ferch Griffyd will be spearheading our children’s activities for the event, some of
which will include Beaded Necklace/Bracelets, Finger Loop Braiding by Lady Adrianna Michaels (to
assist folks with learning techniques to aid the Kingdom Award Cord project) and story time with
Lord Trystan. There will also be a children’s dance class.

Lord Alexandre and Lady Heloise will be coordinating the live musicians during the event. Some of
the music they’ll be using for the site can be found at: www.bellydancesheetmusic.com and everyone
is welcome to join the musicians and play. The plan is to have an all day jam session, with
individual & group performances scheduled during feast (to allow the other musicians to actually
eat their meals). If folks want to perform, please let Alexandre or Heloise know
(alexandre.detourouvre at gmail.com).

Thanks so much for your attention and I hope to show folks why Dun Carraig is known for its
amazing cooks and warm hospitality. Please come and see why my Barony rocks!
