provides to the consorts of those fighting in Crown, and the SCA
exchequer said they were no problem, since they were part of the flavor

Ah very true :)
Plus (if I am not mistaken) it is an expense paid by the SCA, vs a
deduction claimed by someone donating - to - the SCA... That would be
ok because it is an operating expense of the non-profit. It;s like a
one way valve... Nonprofits paying for things ut of their operating
budget is different than individuals or profit entities seeking to
reduce their tax burden via deduction :)
