Poets of Atlantia!
We had but two entrants into the Poeta Atlantiae competition at Twelfth Night. Two! Great was the disappointment of their dread and royal Majesties, so great that indeed they are calling for a second competition at Ymir. I will go further and say: even if you cannot make Ymir in body, send your entry! I will accept them via email (.doc, .txt, or .pdf) or hard copy in the post.
As before, Their Majesties have requested that suitable candidates provide two proofs of their ability, in the following forms:
One, a poem in any style, retelling a Russian folktale, in honor of the origins of our Tsar and Tsaritsa. Please document at least the source of the folktale. (You don't have to document it as period, but we'd like to know where it comes from.)
Two, a poem in any period style on the topic of "The Queen of Atlantia," either in the abstract or about Queen Kalisa in particular. Please provide documentation for the period verse form.
Please contact me with any questions, about either the competition or the duties of the Poeta, at poeta at atlantia.sca.org .
