Actually, the person in question makes chainmail novelties. The one thing I have seen is a cell phone cozy.

Are they looking to do basic butted, or something more complex like
welded/braised or riveted?

The RingLord (IIRC www.ringlord.com) is a decent place to start, and
googling "chainmail pattern" will give you hundreds of links.

I'm now greared up to do riveted (albiet very slowly) All items came
from HomeDepot or Lowes... it is not rocket science, just as time
consuming though :)

If you can use a drill and a file, and have a plumbers torch, you can
modify "normal" stuff and do not need to pay the specialist prices.

Greetings to the list.

A non-SCA friend on the train is looking for a source for chainmail
supplies
(pre-made links etc...) and books.

Any suggestions?
