His newer shoes (like the $75) are NOT made to your feet, they are as they appear off the rack, made by workers in another country I believe. 

I own a pair of his made to order boots and they are wonderful but you have to do a fitting and it takes some time to complete them. (I believe mine took about six months). I have been wearing them since at least 1998 with only a little bit of repair work.
