This weekend Bright Hills will be celebrating it's Birthday up in
Manchester, MD. Folks who are planning to attend have another class to
contemplate attending!

I will be offering my "Prayer Beads: a hands on history" class and
thanks to our University Chancellor, you'll be able to get University
Credit for it. The class will begin at 1PM in the main hall- just
come and find our little corner and join us!

Here's the blurb from the recent University Catalog:

Prayer Beads: a hands on history

An approach to learning about period prayer beads that will allow you
to make a version of your own while also learning about the basics.
Bead kits will be available. We'll talk about how praying on beads got
started and how prayer beads evolved. We'll be making tenners,
chaplets, a short mala, a tesbih or a full 53 bead rosary. I'll even
show you how to tie the knots between the beads if you'd like- for
that you should bring a pointy tweezer to facilitate knot tying.
Questions will be answered to the best of my ability. Examples will be
available for "look and touch". A handout will cover the highlights
on prayer bead usage through the centuries as well as basic
instructions for making various prayer bead configurations.

I have bead kits available from $4 to $2 depending on the item folks
would want to make.

Remember, this class will start promptly at 1 PM since the Bardic Bear
Pit will commence at 2 PM.

Drive safely, wherever it is you may be going this weekend!
