Good Evening Good Atlantians!

In the final rush of the last week before Christmas, I wanted to take a moment of your time to gently remind you all that 12th Night is but 3 weeks away! Yes, hard as it may be to believe, this special event will occur in a mere 21 days! If you haven't made your reservations or gotten your hotel room, you may want to do that this weekend. Make this a Christmas present to yourself. We want to see all of you at this event and would hate for you to miss out.

We have added some new things to tempt you to reserve now:

1) An "early bird" troll will be available at the Hampton Inn for those that arrive late, late on Friday, after our evening troll closes. We will be set up in the conference room Saturday morning, between the hours of 7:00 am and 9:00 am. That means that you can come down in your pj's and fuzzy-bunny slippers, pick up a cup of coffee, troll in and go back upstairs to your room for a leisurely morning before you head over to the event site. Maybe even catch some breakfast at a local eatery before heading over for a day of fun and merriment! After 9:00 am, our troll staff moves over to the event site where the doors will open at 10:00 am for everyone else to troll in. You would have your site token and so could stroll right into Valhalla rather than stand in line. How's that for special treatment?!

2) We have planned a variety of games and sports for those that would like to be active on that day. In addition to some barrier fighting for the heavy fighters and "rapier jenga" for our rapier fighters, we will have bottle jousting, pillows and bells, board games, and if the weather permits, some outdoor games designed to test your strength and determination. Not enough to keep you busy? How about a bardic competition? There will be plenty of A&S competitions, including a youth category for those under the age of 18 who wish to show what they have been working on. We will also have a table decoration competition , Viking themed of course, and a merchants area to spend your gold and silver in.

3) Finally, there will be 3 Royal Courts for your enjoyment and of course, a feast that will be talked about for years to come.

All this and the chance to meet up with your friends, exchange your holiday gifts and generally just spend some quality time with your companions. The site, located in Morehead City, North Carolina, overlooks the water and is an easy 2 1/2 hour drive from Raleigh. Really, there is no reason not to attend this 12th Night and every reason to be there on January 8th, 2011. Go to our website for more information regarding reservations and hotel information: http://twelfthnight.atlantia.sca.org/twelfthnight/Information.html

The schedule of events for this day will be posted in the coming week. Don't wait too long to get your reservations in, as space is filling up and all your friends are going to be there. We want to be able to provide all who attend an event to remember but this is possible only if you get your reservations in early. Please don't wait any longer. Get those reservations in now!!

YIS,
Baroness Katharine de la Vache
Event Steward
