[MR] BBC: Glastonbury thorn tree cut down

Noble friends,

This is the saddest story I have ever posted here. The legendary 
Glastonbury thorn tree was vandalized this week: 
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-11957440 . Sick is the 
only word to describe desecration of such an historic and revered tree. 
Fortunately, there are several scion trees, including one on the abbey 
grounds, which have been grown as a "reserve".
