That is indeed sad news....I knew him long before I joined the SCA. I used 
to roleplay with him back when I was in college in the lare 70s. On a slight 
side note he was co-author of a scifi roleplaying game called Space Quest. 
He co-authored it with Paul Hume and Count Leghair back in the  late 70s.

I lost track of him not long before I entered the army, and ran into him at 
my 1st SCA event. Atlantia's first 12th Night. I was wearing an undyed light 
brown ring belt...and he congradulated me on my knighthood.

He will be missed

Sad Tidings unto the Merry Rose,

We just received a phone call from Baroness Bergdís Thorgrimsdottír that her
husband Viscount Ragnarr Thorwaldsson, sixth Prince of the Principality of
Atlantia and retired Baron of the Barony of Madrone in the Kingdom of An
Tir, died last night of an apparent heart attack.

Bergdis will be contacting us as soon as she knows more about the funeral
arrangements.
She requests that people please refrain from phoning.
As soon as she calls us with more information, we will pass it on.
