[MR] Award Recommendations, Suggest Them

Aedan,

Lady Sarah and my Awards of Arms were a case in point. Due to our
disabilities, we do not travel well and usually only attend a few day
events in central Virginia, not all of those attended by TRM. It is my
understanding that we were actually to receive our Aof As at 12th Night,
which was out of our range. The next possible event was Sapphire Joust.
Our local herald worked mightily to try and get us to court (without our
knowing), but at the last minute Lady Sarah was near collapse from heat
exhaustion so we left early. Our awards were finally presented in
absentia of TRM by Mistress Thjora at a demonstration in September of
that year (and under different royals by then), nearly nine months after
issuance. Whew!

I wonder how often if the in absentia procedure is used, and if it can
be more widely applied to help speed up presentations. Being called
before Royalty to receive an honor is a memorable event, but sometimes
it is just plain hard to arrange.

Kind regards,

Lord Mungo Napier, Archer of Mallard Lodge
