[MR] WoW - Deadlines Please Read If You're Attending

I posted this last Monday. Since then I've gotten several questions and notes from surprised people regarding this very information. So, I'm putting it out again. 

Most imminent is the deadline for pre-registrations ($11 an adult member) THIS THURSDAY is the deadline to pre-register. And the flip side of that is if you want camping space with a registered group YOU MUST BE PRE-REGGED. 

Please note, I'm not 'yelling' with those caps, just trying to make sure you have the information you need to come to WoW and have a great time. I know there are a lot of pulls on our time and don't want you to miss something very important. See you in 10 days!? ~gise


Greetings to all who do read this missive from Gisela event steward for WoW IV,

Please pass this information on to lists and people who will welcome it.

1) GATE opens at 5 pm Thursday Oct 8 and closes a 3 pm on Saturday. The event will be over at Noon on Sunday Oct 11. Information of the 
event, schedules as they are determined and so on can be found at http://warofthewings.com/index.html

2) TOKENS - You must have your token to participate. Everyone 11 years old and older will 
be issued a site token medallion. Children 10 and younger will be issued a 
bracelet. Please be certain to keep this with you and visible as you do at 
larger wars. You will need it to register for competitions of any sort and you 
may be asked to produce it by members of staff throughout the course of the 
event. If you lose your medallion please return to the gate to get a bracelet. 

3) PRE_REG DEADLINE - Deadline for pre-registration ($11 per adult member) ends Oct 1. On-line 
Pre-reg ends Oct 1. Land delivery Pre-registrations must be in the hands of the 
Reservationist by Oct 1. Thereafter gate fee is $15 per adult member. Add $3 for 
the Non-member surcharge if you cannot provide proof of membership at the gate. 
Don't make anyone have to say anything vaguely resembing the following: "Yes, 
Your Grace/Your Excellency/My Lord/Title of Office X, I do know who you are. I'm 
certain your membership is paid but I must actually see the proof."

4) LAND ALLOTTED BASED ON PRE-REG - If you want pre-allotted land for camping or if you wish to camp with a 
particular group you must be pre-registered and make this known to our 
Reservationist and Land Steward as explained on the Reservations page at 
http://warofthewings.com/reservations.html

5) MINOR CHILDREN NOT YOUR OWN - If you are bringing a minor child who is not 
your legal child Atlantian Kingdom Law requires you have a ~~notarized~~ Minor 
Medical Authorization Form found at http://www.sca.org/docs/pdf/treatminor-notary.pdf???? 
There can be NO EXCEPTIONS. Please don't make us send you home from Gate.

6) VOLUNTEERS - Anyone who wishes to volunteer at the event is greatly welcomed and 
encouraged to do so. There is great need particularly for Gate/Troll help, 
Marshals for all disciplines from Thrown Weapons to Rapier, MoLs, Heraldic 
crying, and so on. Volunteering also helps earn a War Point for your chosen side 
as the side with the most hour tokens turned in to Volunteer Point will earn a 
Point. Gate Duty and Privy Duty earn double credit.
