[MR] Brotherhood, sort of...

To me, arms and armour transcend gender.? As they do size, age, and pretty much all those distinctions we make amongst ourselves.? English is awkward at expressing "neuter" concepts relating to people; the convention is to revert to the masculine.? So a brotherhood or a fraternity might be all male or it might be mixed gender.? I don't think any of my brother fighters were intending any snub to women in arms when they used that term.

Yours aye

Donal

For me not to include women in the "brotherhood" would be a little
hypocritical of me considering I've got female fighters bookending me right
now. My first post-authorization fight was against Sir Fern (nobody told me
not to take her legs), and I'm working with an aspiring female right now who
wants to fight.

Being ex-military helps. There are no colors or sexes, everyone is green.

i think we dont mention sex specifically because most of us dont view a
fighter as a he or she. much like boats are "shes" fighters are "hes" but
not reliant on whether they stand up or sit down in the port-a-john. i, and
i think most fighters, dont treat female fighters any differently. i dont
think its fair to them and i personally respect every combatants willingness
to engage in violent conflict with me. at least thats my personal view on
it and what i hear most often from other males on the subject.

OK, my one little pint of fuel to the fire-- Hello! People!! WOMEN FIGHT
HEAVY, TOO. (grump, grump...I stomp off to my A&S corner...)

I was really totally awful as a fighter, and I'm t
oo old/fat/happy in the
corner reading by the AC to go back to it. But I really, seriously, totally
miss the camaraderie. Thankfully one of my best friends from college
(equally as old, but way more athletic and coordinated!) started fighting
out in Atenveldt, at least I get to fight vicariously now.
