Good Morning Atlantia :-)
As the autocrat of Lochmere's event this weekend I'd like to take a few
minutes of your time to express my thanks to the many people who made the
event a success. Events don't just 'happen,' it is the dedication of our
volunteers who give so much time and effort that provide us all with
weekends of fun. I'm sure I will miss some specific names so please, please
forgive me and know that you were vital to the success of the event and your
efforts are so appreciated.
Thank you to the set up crew that arrived on Friday - some of whom worked
all of Saturday as well and came back Sunday morning to clean up - Baron
Reynard, Lord Argylle, Baron Vlad, Lord Stephen Bridewell, Lord Fulk, Sir
Aelfred, Baroness Margery, House Wulfshaven, Lady Dealla, Lord Ashton, and
the others whose faces I saw but can't remember now or don't know the names
of.
To Lady Christiana and Lord Misha for hauling all of the kitchen gear to and
from the site, as well as dealing with Kid's corner stuff and the Brewing
discussions (respectively). To Lady Jacintha- I know kid's stuff happened,
thank you!
Thank you to all of the Marshalls who worked very hard to make ALL of the
fighting happen and to the Earl Marshal for allowing us to provide what
looked like a very enjoyable heavy tourney in an unusual format. Thank you
to Lord Argylle, Master Alan and TLH Giaccomo for the Rapier activities and
fun. And to Lord Aedan and the archers who entertained her Majesty and our
guests with a hunt themed archery shoot. And of course, thank you to
Mistress Ceridwen and the MOL's dealt with the extensive tourney work and
percentages, 6 tourneys! Heralds- I don't know who all of you were other
than Lady Shannon and Lord Santiago...but your work was valuable to us,
thank you.
Thank you to Lord Arturious for handling parking (usually a lonely and wet
job) and for those who assisted during the day as well.
Thank you to those who kept the fighters and spectators provided with drinks
(unofficially of course). Thank you to Mistress Anne of Carthew, Lord
Segeheart and Lady Sorcha who served lunch and to Lord Padre and Mistress
Keilyn who cooked it.
Thank you to Mistress Arianna for dealing with Lochmart, A&S and providing
Laydes Faire's beautiful music during feast. I know you had plenty of help
so please pass along thanks to all of them as well.
Thank you to Mistress Caitlyn and her friend (whose name completely escapes
me) for your help on the A&S front and in the kitchen.
Huge thanks to Mistress Keilyn and her crew in the kitchen for a gluttonous
feast that was not only hot and prompt but delicious.
Huge thanks to the House Wulfshaven members who cleaned the kitchen and
throughout the day provided fighters on the field, and assistance where I
needed, including set up and break down. A big thank you to Lord Fulk!
To Their Majesties, thank you for joining us, your presence added joy and
fun to the day.
To their Excellencies, Margery and Dominic thank you for your support, hard
work and dedication to the Barony and to me personally during this event.
To those who came - thank you for attending despite Lochmere's reputation
for rainy events (and the rain waited! Who hoo!)! I could see that people
enjoyed themselves and that is what the event was for! The bardic was not
defeated by the rain, and a lovely evening was had by those who stayed and
relaxed while it finally poured.
And to five vital persons- Baroness Medb my co-autocrat who took so much off
my shoulders and ran with it, as well as handling reservations. Her
co-autocrat Baron Vlad who was there to set up, break down, and everything
else.
To Lord Segehart who arrived Friday to help and worked at whatever I needed
all weekend, it was wonderful to be able to turn to you and say I need this
done and you took care of it.
Thank you to Lady Sorcha, who flew up from Meridies for her best friend's
event and was my shadow for most of the weekend. When she was not washing
dishes, serving feast, harassing my other help, moving tables, cleaning etc,
she was entertaining everyone with her humor.
And last but never least my own Chevalier, Sir Aelfred- who lived with the
autocrat through preparations and the event. He designed the heavy Tourney,
helped with set up, break down, was the Marshal in Charge, mopped floors
(imagine that - Sir Mop mopped floors), lugged heavy items he is NOT
supposed to lift, dealt with best friend harassment too, and still had time
to work with his fabulous music group :-) to provide beautiful vocal music.
Thank you all for your help,
Duchess Simone
