Achbar - I've always contended that you can get a new fighter armored up
for $200, it all comes down to how much you make, vs. buy.
There are lots of options/ways in which to make inexpensive but
functional (and appearance requirement meeting) armor on the cheap, from
a trip to Home Depot & a Leather Store
* Flat plate steel/aluminum & Leather arms/legs/knees/elbows.
* Heater Hose gamboised Leggings
* Moving Blanket Gambeson
* Blue Barrel Coat-of-plates
etc.
Combined w/ a $70 Ashcraft-Baker helm (or similar) ...
I think $200 is quite within reason. As long as said new fighter is
willing to do some elbow grease, and the local group willing to host a
few workshops to help them out.
