Hello everyone,
For those in the northern region, there will be a meeting next Sunday,
September 20, at the G Street store in Rockville. Baroness Katharine
Devereaux and I will be leading a class on 15th century fashions,
concentrating on styles in England, France and Burgundy. This is in
preparation for the event in Ponte Alto in November, Tournament of the Lily.
It is going to be a 15th century pas d'armes, and we would love for as many
people as possible to be dressed in fashions of that time. We will also,
time permitting, do some fittings for the supportive kirtle that is worn
under the V-necked gown. If you would like a fitting done, please bring 2-3
yards of fabric, pins, scissors and a marking pen. If you want to use this
fitting as the lining of your kirtle, please bring heavy weight linen (you
can probably get away with medium weight linen if you don't need much
support). Please let us know if you would like a fitting, so we can get an
idea of how many people we will have time for.
Any questions, please let me or Baroness Katharine or Lady Alessandra know.
I look forward to seeing some of you next week!
