A post came through and un sca related website that made me think (uh oh) .. the post was asking for Halloween outfits your children might of outgrown. The Post stated (see original at bottom) she had attended a school Halloween party at local elementary school in my area and that many kids didn't have outfits because parents just couldn't afford them (in my area there is high poverty and low income area).
Here's the thought... we almost all have a yard or 2 of fabric left after sewing outfits for ourselves.I know I put my leftover aways for a future project that I hadn't discovered.A yard or 2 would go well for a child's costume.I have emailed this person to ask which school this was and have plans to sew the year through so that if a child needs an outfit to wear they will have one.No child likes to be left out.So my thought is if you have children with outfits they don't wear ask at school in your area if they could use either to pass on to children or even in drama dept.I would be willing to pass any on here in my area if you should wish... or if you may like to join me in sewing I'd be glad of the help (mostly since I do not have children and don't know first thing bout sewing children clothes).

Original post
I wanted to let everyone know that when they are done with their Halloween
Costumes this year and know they will not fit next yr .Please consider donating them to a Local Elementary school to use for children that may not have a costume I went to the Harvest party at My sons school and to see the little kids that didnt have anything to wear, some sat and stared blankly at the other kids dressing and laughing others cried...It was Heartbreaking If you dont want to
take them to the school your self I will collect them in or around the
