for War of the Wings IV
October 10, 2009 (A.S. XLIV)

By Lady Rosanella
Vespucci
Cornet Herald

Unto the Kingdom of Atlantia and the most esteemed Triton
Herald, Mistress Rhiannon ui Neill, does Lady Rosanella Vespucci send greetings
and this report on Court business conducted at the above-named gathering.

Their Majesties, Tsar Vladimir Ivanovich Aleksandrov and
Tsaritsa Kalisa Aleksandrovna, did hold Court in the early evening of the event
as the sky became pink to honor the events of the day. The Populace was invited to take their ease
and Their Majesties offered thanks to all those who worked diligently
throughout the days to make this wonderful event happen. Our Most High King discussed the events of
the Day and the outcome of this War of the Wings. Baroness Gracia Esperanca de Sevilla did come
forth and share a song in the lovely voice which did begin the enmity in the
Kingdom. Although His Majesty acknowledged
that more War Points were awarded on one side, it was His Pleasure to announce
Himself as the Victor of the Day and peace was therefore restored to His Lands. A beautiful War of the Wings banner was
presented to His Majesty as well as the Right to Sound the Horn of
Victory. His Majesty passed off the
sounding of the Horn to his guard who very gently sounded the Horn although
great effort was put into the task.

Their Excellencies of Sacred Stone were then allowed to open
a Baronial Court and conduct business. Their Excellencies
of Black Diamond also conducted business with Their Majesties’ permission.

All of the Children in attendance were invited to come forth and be greeted. Their Majesties were most pleased with the
number of children there and reminded the Populace of their responsibility to
teach and nurture the future of our Kingdom. It did please Their Majesties to provide the Children with a gift from
the Kingdom treasure box which was carried by the King’s Guard. The enthusiasm of the children was great and
His Majesty feared that a new Guard would be needed. His Majesty was most pleased to know that the
Guard was not gravely injured.

His Majesty then
called forth the Corsarians and returned to them the Flag of their Household
which was given into the King’s safekeeping during the War.

It was then Their Majesties’ pleasure to summon into Court
the following:

I. Lord
Bassi inn fiskni Einarrson (Argent, three bear’s pawprints sable, on a
chief gules a fish argent) who was inducted into the Order of the Yew Bow for his excellence in
archery. A scroll was given to
commemorate this event.

II. William
Garrett was called into Court by Her Majesty who was most taken with the
young man’s entry into the “Best Use of Pink” A&S category. Young Mr. Garrett used “pinking” shears to
cut out a hood in a most clever manner. For his work he was awarded with an Alcyon and a medallion was given to
him by the Queen’s Own Hand.

III. Lady Ceridwen of Taylorwood presented herself at Their Majesties’
command. All members of the Order of the
Opal were asked to stand with her and she was inducted into their Order for meritorious
service to the Kingdom. A beautiful
framed scroll was given to her.

IV. Diederich
Von Basel was called forth and presented with an Award of Arms with a
scroll by Their Majesties.

V. Brocc
Stratton of House Barra was summoned into Court and received an Award of
Arms with a scroll for his service to the Kingdom.

VI. It
then pleased Their Majesties to call into court the Lady Elisabeth Hansler,
Kingdom Minister of Youth. Their
Majesties called forth Kathryn of Cyddlain Downs to be inducted into the
Atlantian Pages’ Academy. Katherine did
willingly pledge her service to the Crowns of Atlantia as a new Page.

VII. Denys
de Forest was then called into Court and given an Award of Arms with a
scroll for his many acts of service to the Kingdom.

VIII. Donal
Oneal was ordered to appear before Their Majesties and also given an Award
of Arms with a scroll.

IX. Then
came forth at Their Majesties’ call Caitlin MacDonaughue and Edmund
Hawkesworth, whose service to the Kingdom was lauded by an Award of Arms to
each of them with a scroll.

X. Gwenhevare of Alnwick, who had been
called into Court earlier, was now located and presented herself before Their
Majesties. For her service to the
Kingdom, she was given an Award of Arms with a scroll.

At this time, Their
Majesties did invite all Newcomers to come forward and be
recognized. There were many new visitors
on this day and Their Majesties did bid them most welcome, thank them for their
presence, and offer gifts of thanks to commemorate their visit to our fair
Kingdom. They were heartily beseeched to
come again to the Great Kingdom of Atlantia.

As the sun set on
this Glorious Day Their Majesties, having completed Their Court business, did
then close their Court.
