Good day, Gentles. May this missive find you well.

I am very excited for this Saturday's festivities at New Kent Winery and hope that all of you will join in the competitions and merriment! The site opens at 10 a.m., with armor and bow inspections beginning around 11 a.m. and competitions starting around noon.

Your troll fee includes a free winery tour (and tasting for those over 21) which normally costs $10. (I can personally attest to the deliciousness of the Meritage and Vidal Blanc... yum! hope you agree). You will be fascinated with the stories of how the environmentally-friendly building was built with recycled and repurposed materials.

In addition to the A&S competition, for which you may enter your work related to the British isles, we also encourage you to bring ANY projects that would be of interest to the mundanes in attendance. Winery guests will be very curious to learn more about the hobbies of our talented artisans. And remember, today's mundane may be tomorrow's newest SCAdian so let's do our best to talk with those who are genuinely interested.

Following court, we will enjoy a potluck feast in the Cellar Room, a very period-feeling feast hall in the lower level of the winery. For those bringing a crockpot, you may plug it in, in the Cellar Room upon arrival (ask at Troll for details). Cooler or refrigerator space will be available as well. An oven and two gas grills are on site but will have limited availability (due to sausages and Magda's Bogogi (sp?) being cooked to perfection) so please plan accordingly. An index card with the name/type of dish and all ingredients would be appreciated since we have some allergy concerns. PLEASE bring your own feast gear and (non-alcoholic) beverages.

Volunteers are needed and appreciated. If you can help in any way with set up on Friday evening, Saturday morning, or after-feast clean-up, please let me know. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you at this wonderful event. Thank you all - see you Saturday!

Pax,
Br. Augustin the Blind
Autocrat, BoB09
