I agree.  Though Dan does seem to drone on at times and if you are not truly "Hard Core"(hence the name) about the subject it is easy to get bored.

Another great history podcast is "Hardcore History" by Dan Carlin. He does a
pretty good "ordinary person's view" of major events. He does various
historical eras, but has done some great ancient world and medieval
episodes.
