Logan: "clearly you assumed some sort of attack and even responded as though the commentary was a personal and direct attack on your political viewpoint."
Nope. And you're making an assumption to support your criticism of assumptions.
"it is possible the commentary was simply done in humor (as several people noted it came across to them) and not, in fact, an attack against your political stance."
It was both. And now you're implying a political joke is not political.
Sure, it was funny. Thats not relevant.
"...done in humor (as several people noted it came across to them)"
Several people have also noted it was poor form. "Furious" and "irritated" are a few of the words they used.
"my point is/was that -"
The point is those of us who lean Right are constantly hectored by friends, family and co-workers over our politics. We only ignore it because we don't want the drama - our silence is not consent.
Please return the courtesy. We would like to be free from "conversion" while we enjoy our mutual hobby. There's no legitimate reason for anyone to make political jabs on the SCA forums.
If you don't want the pot stirred, don't bring it here.
Cheers
Fen
