Tea tree oil is great for rashes, sunburn, anti-fungal, insect bites,
etc - mainly surface related. Lavender, is similar to tea tree oil but
with added respiratory and calming effects. Now comfrey, like arnica,
treats muscles and bruises well. Medically speaking, comfrey is
believed to act as a blood purifier and as a promoter of cell division,
which leads to rebuilding of the body. I believe its the allantoin
content that increases the cell division.

Primarily due to the fact that you cannot patent what nature produces. You can patent the process used to remove the oil from a plant, you cannot patent the oil itself. So you big money pharmaceutical companies are not going to pursue that avenue...

I should also add that more and more information is coming out about essential oils even though there are very few professionals getting paid to research it.
