[MR] Tired of ignoring political cheap shots

One of the things I've always liked about the SCA is that it is one of
the few places (if not the only) where people put aside their political
and religious differences. I don't hide my political leanings, and
neither do the other members of my local group, and I am definitely on a
vastly different part of the political spectrum than they. But we
generally just don't bring it up, as it's not relevant to what we're
here to do. You mention tolerance - this is an organization that has FAR
more tolerance than any group I have ever encountered. You have
Christians, Atheists, Pagans, Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians,
whatever - and we all get along with each other and enjoy each other's
company. I think the country could take a lesson from us.

As for the comment, I, too, saw it as more of a Leno-esque joke, but I
can see how it may have fallen flat. Maybe we should go back to leaving
mundane politics out of the discussion. That seemed to work rather well :)

And, backing up what Diederich said (if only for clarity) - Duke Logan
was not the one who made that statement. It was placed in the middle of
a quoted response to something he said.
