[MR] Leg coverings/spatterdashes/chaps?

Half-chaps, usually found at saddle stores work very well (that's what I use to cover my high top cleats).  They usually come in brown and black, and either a rough or smooth leather.  Most have Velcro,buckle or zipper (all hidden) fastenings.  I believe motorcycle riders have a similar thing available to them.

Some time ago there was some discussion of cloth or leather coverings for the lower legs, intended in our case to disguise modern footgear worn by fighters.

Will someone please refresh my memory about some of those options?
