Greeting to the Tavern,
It seems that the points boil down to a simple issue:
1) Either they are WAR points (meaning that ONLY martial activities count) or they aren't. Personally, I feel my efforts (as a non-combatant) should be just as valued as someone who is on the field. Especially for those of us who give up some of our "fun" to make the event better for others. I'm not asking for special treatment, but the treatment should be EQUAL.
2) If the points really don't matter, than let's do away with them across the board.
Another suggestion for the event (if the members of the Tavern have not been over burdened by this topic so far, smile) might be to make a auction for those who volunteer. One method that has been used in other areas is to ask for donations (Merchants are usually amazingly generous in this area...as an event steward, I would have been lost without their support) and hold a raffle. Each hour of volunteer time earns one ticket. (Same can be used for any non-martial activity). It keeps the non-fighters out of the war point pool, and still encourages participation among the attendees.
Just adding some chaff to the wheat, smile.
Molly
