This is actually NC law when applied to real buildings. It was likely
intended as BBQ Grills and burning trash (yes some folks still don't get it)
But canvas is so much more flammable than a brick building. Nylon is worst.

Street signs are already being planned for next year. As for the torches by
the pavilions, no torch should ever be placed less than 10 feet from any
tent or pavilion. That's just basic fire safety. Unfortunately a lot of
people don't think about it. If I'm not mistaken, the 10-foot rule (for fire
safety) is listed in the Pennsic handbook.
