[MR] Heavy Fighting scenarios

having fought in that particular battle many times lets not forget that it
is the most grueling battle at pennsic (next to the battle of getting esa to
get out of bed, but thats something i live with everyday!). we violate many
rules of the list during that battle and i can see the same thing happening
if we did it at wow. the difference is that at pennsic you have 30 or 45 of
the best fighters in the world on each side, we all know each other, and we
all have many years in the sport. this allows a lot of things to be kept in
check. in particular, attitudes. with the full on running that folks do
once they have the flag the collisions are things of legend. so are the
blows from behind, the tackles, the hockey like body checks, etc. the
average fighter doesnt wear equipment that can handle that nor does the
average fighter have the right attitude for such aggression. my fear is
that injuries would be high and that folks that are not hyper competitive
would not enjoy that level of violence. you do bring up a point about
creating a scenario that is easier for the spectators to understand what is
going on (more than simply guys getting hit and being removed from the
battle). there are a lot of scenarios that keep the battle flowing, are
interesting to watch, yet dont muddy up the fighting by creating outlandish
situations.

I would like to suggest a battle like the allied Champions battle at
Pennsic. This is basically a res capture the flag that does the 3-5 min
holds described below. Instead of killing the Baron, the goal is to capture
the other flag as many times as you can in an hour. This battle is an
AMAZING amount of fun for the spectators because we can actually see what is
going on, who is winning and it gives us something to cheer for. Based on
the comments of the guys who attend pennsic, the fighters enjoy this
scenario as well.
Just my opinion for next year....
