Read his words again, that's not what he's advocating.  There were a number
of points that were heavily weighted in favor of the local group since they
were based upon the sheer number of people doing them.  Unless something is
really wrong, you should have many more folks from the local group than from
a group that's hours away.

You can still do something to encourage such things as volunteerism while
also trying to make it more equitable.  What if you asked for the local
group when people checked in at troll and compared those numbers against the
people who volunteered.  Then give the group with the highest percentage of
volunteers a special recognition or prize?  Just one idea, I'm sure others
can come up with better.

I don't care what the details of any points are, just as I usually don't
stress about the details of any given tournament.  What bothers me is when
things aren't equitable and that's what seems to be the case here.
