[MR] Interesting castle picture

While the mortar may originally have been colored with clay from the same
quarry as the brick, or with brick dust, modern practice would be to use a
colorant mixed with the cement. There is a brownish red color that was, at one
time, popular for sidewalks and porches. Used in a lower concentration that
might give the pink shade.
