About the business cards... we had some made for our Shire, and they work
wonderfully. Newcomer contacts happen at unexpected and inconvenient times
(the parking lot of a Chinese food buffet at 10:00 p.m. comes to mind), and
nothing grinds a conversation to a halt faster than scavenging for pen and
paper.

The cards were simple, with addresses to our shire, kingdom, and SCA
websites, and the e-mail address of our shire chatelaine. Everyone carries a
few in their wallet, and when someone in public asks about the funny
clothes, we can give them all the contact info they need while keeping the
conversation going.

Highly recommended :-)
